The Taj Mahal, was built by emperor Shan Jehan in memory of his beloved queen. Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1631, and is believed to have taken 18 years to complete, with over 20,000 craftsmen working around the clock. The Taj Mahal is unique in its perfect proportions, distinct femininity, medium of construction and ornamentation. Its marble exterior reflects rose and golden tints at sunset, while it is dazzling white during the day.

Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary (The Keoladeo Ghana National Park) hosts a variety of bird species from across the globe. Close to 380 species of birds are found in this 29 sq km stretch. Approximately 10 sq km is marshland, while the rest is comprised of scrublands, grasslands and more than 44,000 trees that are used by nesting birds each year.
Bharatpur is historical in its own way. The Maharaja of Bharatpur is credited for its creation in 1890. He enclosed a large area with embankments and further divided it with earthen dams called 'bunds', creating a large number of marshes and lakes. Conservation efforts were originally started by Dr. Salim Ali and received further impetus when the area was deemed a national park in March 1982. In 1985, Bharatpur was accepted as a World Heritage Site.

BIRLA MANDIR (Laxminarayan Temple) is built in the Nagara style of architecture interspersed with modern influences. The entire temple is adorned with relief carvings depicting scenes from mythology. 101 skilled pundits from Benares, carved the figures of the temple. Artistic sculptures add to the aesthetic beauty of this temple. The highest Shikara of the temple above the sanctum sanctorum soars 160 feet high. An artificial landscape with mountains and cascading waterfalls adds to the beauty of the temple.
Iskcon Temple aims to present Indian history in an interactive manner. From a restaurant to a museum, a library and a special animatronics show, ISKCON has it all. The entire show presents the story of human evolution, and is successful in combining science and technology with religion.
Gurdwara Bangla Sahib is a center for people who strong the Gurdwara everyday. Guru Harikrishan ji was entertained as a royal guest by Mirza Jai Singh in his palace. During this period, smallpox and cholera had broken in Delhi and Guru Harikrishan ji moved among the victims of the epidemic. Both Hindu and Muslims of Delhi were deeply moved by his compassion and human touch. Guru Harikrishan ji distributed sanctified water to the sick and the poor, which had a miraculous healing effect on their mind and soul. Raja Jai Singh dedicated his palace to the memory of the Guru. Since his death in 1664, it has been the worship place of the sikhs.
Lotus Temple (Bahai house of worship) was inaugurated to public worship in December 1986 and has drawn more than 50 million visitors, surpassing those who visit the Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal. Visitors will admire the beautiful lotus form of the Temple, be fascinated by the teachings of the Bahá'í Faith, and be impressed by its tenets of the oneness of God, oneness of religions and oneness of mankind.
