- PDT enters online media market with Tripfilms to enhance travel industry profile online -

NEW YORK, NY (Feb. 9, 2009) – Recognizing the increasing importance of social media, Pacific Delight Tours – America’s leading tour operator to China & the Orient – is partnering with Tripfilms to produce the first annual Trippy Awards.  The awards honor the best travel videos by real travelers posted on the innovative website as voted by members. The grand prize – an All-Inclusive 11-day China Experience featuring a Yangtze River Cruise as well as excursions in Beijing and Shanghai – will be awarded to the TripVlogger of the Year, or member with best online travel video.

Dedicated to bringing authentic and cultural travel experiences to life through online video streaming since its launch in the summer of 2007, Tripfilms is accepting nominations for a multitude of categories, including the Host Of The Year award (best on-camera personality), Hop On A Plane award (most inspiring video), Jot This Down award (best travel planning video), Travel Bites award (best food video), Ends Of The Earth award (best off-the-beaten-path video) LOL award (funniest video) and several others, with 10 Trippy Awards in total.

Pacific Delight’s sponsorship of the Trippy Awards provides the winning TripVlogger an all-access trip to China to research and develop additional travel video products to help promote tourism to the country. As with YouTube, Tripfilms video content is easily embedded onto any existing website from personal Facebook and MySpace accounts to the websites of travel retailers – and Pacific Delight plans to include videos from the winner’s trip to China on The tour operator will also encourage its travel agency partners to do the same.
