The following optional tours may be purchased prior to your departure from the USA and operate on a seat-in-coach basis. All optional tour rates are based on a minimum of two passengers.

Hong Kong

Land Between Tour (includes lunch): Discover a tapestry of scenic contrasts in the “land between” commonly known as the New Territories. Visit Yuen Yuen Institute, an impressive center demonstrating Confucian, Taoist and Buddhist contributions to society; stop at the lookout point of Hong Kong’s tallest mountain for panoramic views of the lush region; and see the traditional Fanling Walled Village. Then head to scenic Luk Keng Road which runs parallel to the mainland, just across the inlet. Finally, learn how local fishermen breed fish in submerged cages at a fish farming zone at Sam Mum Tsai.

Lantau Island with Vegetarian Lunch: Twice the size of Hong Kong Island, Lantau is the largest among the 236 islands of Hong Kong, but with only a small population of about 30,000 people. The island’s long, beautiful beaches, dark verdant mountains, old fishing villages and solemn Po Lin Monastery are compelling reasons to visit. Nearby the monastery is the world’s largest bronze Buddha statue.

Full Day Ayutthaya (includes lunch): This full day tour takes you on an enjoyable trip to Thailand’s ancient capital, Ayutthaya. Depart your hotel by coach to Bang-Pa-In, the magnificent summer palace of King Rama V. The colossal ruins of Ayutthaya loom in regal dignity as you explore its well-planned byways, the inspiration for modern Bangkok. Return to Bangkok on an enchanting Chao Phraya River cruise with a sumptuous luncheon served on board.

Full Day Damnernsaduak & Rose Garden Tour (includes lunch): Depart Bangkok by coach to see the famous Floating Market at Damnernsaduak, stopping at various attractions including Thailand’s largest Pagoda at Nakorn Pathom. Enjoy lunch at the Rose Garden Country Resort and spend the afternoon enjoy­ing Thai cultural shows at the Thai Village. Shows include the colorful Buddhist ordination procession, an elegant fingernail dance, Thai boxing, Thai sword fights, elephants at work, charming folk dances and a traditional Thai wedding ceremony.

Full Day Damnernsaduak & River Kwai Tour (includes lunch): Travel by motorcoach to the colorful Floating Market at Damnern­saduak, stopping at various attractions including Nakorn Pathom, Thailand’s largest pagoda. Continue to the River Kwai, with lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch visit the world famous bridge on the River Kwai, and the memorial dedicated to the 9,000 Allied soldiers who died building the bridge and railway.

Harbor Cruise with High Tea: Enjoy a cruise aboard the MV Cheng Ho, an exact replica of an Imperial Ming Dynasty vessel. Night Safari Adventure: The world’s first Night Safari, in a jungle setting adjoining the Singapore Zoo, unfolds the mystery and drama of the jungle at night with stunning effect. See a myriad of nocturnal animals, from fierce predators to timid forest dwellers, in their natural habitat outdoors under the subtle moonlight. You may choose either a scenic tram ride through selected habitats, or a walk on the well-lit trail for leisurely viewing of the animals at closer quarters.

Singapore by Night: Enjoy a sunset dinner at Clarke Quay, Singapore’s latest haunt. Take in the beautiful Singapore skyline by night on a Bumboat ride after dinner; continue to Bugis Street where your guide will take you for a stroll through the bargain-filled stalls of the night market. The last stop is at the famed Raffles Hotel where you may sample Singapore’s very own concoction, the Singapore Sling.
